Car Transport from France to the UK & Ireland
Arrange car transport from France to London, other UK destinations or onward to Ireland with BZ Recovery. We quote planned vehicle collections, returning cars, overseas purchases and suitable non-runners around the complete collection-to-delivery journey.
Paris to London car transport is one example; the complete service can also be quoted from other French cities to a UK address or an Irish destination. Tell us where the car actually stands, its condition and why it is moving, so the route and paperwork can be considered together.

France to UK vehicle transportation
France to UK vehicle transportation can cover a returning holiday vehicle, a purchase from a private seller or dealer, a relocation or a planned workshop movement. Northern France, the Paris region and the Mediterranean coast involve different driving distances and collection conditions. We assess each collection rather than promising one standard departure or delivery time for the whole country.
A returning UK-owned car, a newly bought foreign-registered car and a vehicle moving with its owner can require different arrangements. Explain why the vehicle is moving when requesting a quote. We will assess the transport scope, loading and route; customs representation, tax and registration services are included only if expressly agreed.
French cities and car transport routes we can assess
Paris, Lille, Calais and northern France to London
For car transport Paris to London, give the Paris-region address and whether collection is from a street, underground garage or workshop. Lille, Calais, Dunkirk, Rouen and Reims enquiries also need the exact collection point. A car’s proximity to a Channel port does not confirm that it is released, ready to load or documented for the journey.
Lyon, Strasbourg and central or eastern France
Lyon to London car transport, Strasbourg to the UK and collections around Dijon, Clermont-Ferrand or Grenoble can be assessed around the final destination and the vehicle. A workshop repatriation needs opening hours, storage charges settled and release authority. Any mountain or restricted local approach should be described before the journey is quoted.
Bordeaux, Toulouse, Marseille, Nice and the west or south
We can assess car transport from Bordeaux, Toulouse, Marseille, Montpellier, Nice, Nantes, Rennes and surrounding mainland locations. Longer French collection legs need realistic appointment planning, loading access and a confirmed recipient. We agree the complete movement rather than borrowing a delivery estimate from a much shorter northern-France route.
Paris to London car transport and returning vehicles
A Paris to London vehicle collection should identify the precise arrondissement or surrounding town, parking level and vehicle entrance. A non-runner underground is a different task from a running car at a dealer forecourt. If collection cannot take place at the door, any alternative handover point must be agreed with the owner and suitable for the car’s condition.
For a UK-owned vehicle returning after a breakdown, confirm which garage or storage operator has it and whether repairs have left it able to roll and steer. For a French purchase, arrange ownership and release separately from the transport. Send the vehicle documents and explain the movement so the appropriate responsible parties can organise border requirements.
Car transport from France to Dublin and onward through Ireland
Car transport Paris to Dublin, Lille to Dublin or Nice to Ireland can be assessed as a complete enquiry. We can also quote onward Irish delivery when the vehicle first travels through the UK. A direct France–Ireland crossing may be another route option, so tell us if a London stop is actually required rather than making it an automatic detour.
If you need the vehicle to continue to Ireland after a UK delivery or transit leg, tell us before the first leg is booked. Provide the final Eircode, recipient, preferred dates and whether the vehicle needs to stop in the UK. London does not have to be an intermediate destination when an alternative route suits the complete movement better.
Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford enquiries can be assessed against the actual addresses and transport availability. Belfast and Northern Ireland must be identified separately because the journey and documentation can differ from delivery to the Republic of Ireland. Do not book onward transport on the assumption that every Irish journey uses the same customs process.
Route planning from France: roads, crossings and access
A Channel route may involve northern French ports or the tunnel, depending on the transport arrangement. For Irish delivery, French ports offering Ireland services can be considered alongside a UK transit route. Crossing availability, vehicle acceptance and documentation must be checked for the actual transporter and journey; passenger-car booking assumptions should not be applied to commercial vehicle transport.
A confirmed route needs to account for the transporter’s dimensions and weight, collection access, driver hours, crossing availability, tolls and city restrictions. We agree the collection and delivery windows around those conditions. A ferry or tunnel journey is only one part of the transport; terminal check-in, loading, border formalities and the final delivery leg also need time.
For London delivery, give the precise borough, street and entrance. Tell us about a controlled street, height barrier, permit, loading bay, private courtyard or underground car park. We will agree an accessible handover point where a transporter cannot reach the door. Equivalent details matter at a European city address and an Irish destination.
Vehicle purchases, returning cars and non-runners
Private purchases and relocations
Arrange release with the seller, dealership or storage site. Give the registration or VIN and identify who owns the car and who may release it. The transport service moves the vehicle; it does not verify the sale, inspect its mechanical condition or complete registration automatically.
Breakdown repatriation
A vehicle already at a garage or storage site can be assessed for planned repatriation. Confirm its condition, keys, wheel movement, storage balance and release authority. Do not assume a long-distance transporter can immediately remove a vehicle from a motorway incident or police-controlled location.
Classic, prestige and trade cars
Describe ground clearance, modifications, value and any loading instructions before booking. Dealers and workshops should provide invoice and collection references. Suitable EVs, hybrids and vans are assessed against weight and condition, including any battery damage or isolation requirements.
Documents to prepare before collection
For French collections, ask the seller or garage for the registration details, VIN and release information before transport is arranged. Explain whether the car is returning, newly purchased or moving with its owner. Do not assume that possession of a French registration document alone settles ownership, export or UK import responsibilities.
- Registration or title documents and VIN matching the vehicle
- Proof of ownership, invoice or written authority to move it
- Collection release, seller or garage contact and opening hours
- The reason for movement: return, purchase, relocation, temporary move or trade
- The agreed customs or transit arrangements and the responsible representative
- Final delivery address, recipient and a list of any accepted contents
Check the current European transport information and official UK vehicle import guidance. For Irish delivery, consult Revenue’s vehicle registration and tax information. A transport quote cannot decide your eligibility for tax relief or permission to register a particular vehicle.
How much does car transport from France cost?
The price for car transport from France to London depends heavily on the collection location: a ready-to-load car near Lille and a damaged car near Marseille involve different road and loading requirements. A France to Dublin quotation must include the chosen crossing and final Irish delivery leg as part of the agreed scope.
We quote the complete job using the two addresses, vehicle size and weight, running condition, loading method, dates, crossing, tolls and any agreed onward delivery. Waiting, storage, customs representation, taxes and third-party charges must be identified; they should not be assumed to be included in a mileage figure.
Flexible collection windows may make planning easier, but availability and savings are confirmed individually. We do not publish an automatic all-inclusive price or a guaranteed international delivery time. The written quotation sets out the movement we can offer and the assumptions on which it depends.

- Whether the vehicle starts, drives, rolls, steers, brakes and selects neutral

France car transport questions
Can you quote car transport Paris to London and Paris to Dublin?
Yes. Send the full Paris-region address, final London postcode or Dublin Eircode, dates and condition. Tell us whether a UK stop is required or whether an alternative route to Ireland can be considered.
Can you arrange car transport from France to Ireland?
Yes, we can assess the complete route to the Republic of Ireland, including an onward leg where appropriate. Give the final Eircode and documentation position before booking. The route, crossings and availability are confirmed in your quotation.
Is UK customs clearance automatically included?
No. Customs representation, tax and registration are separate responsibilities unless expressly included. Tell us who is preparing any declarations so transport and paperwork can be coordinated.
Can a non-running car be transported internationally?
Many non-runners can be assessed. We need photographs and accurate information about wheels, steering, brakes, keys, transmission and any damage. Some conditions require special equipment or make a movement unsuitable.
Can I leave luggage or spare parts inside the car?
Remove personal belongings and valuables unless items have been listed and accepted in advance. Loose parts and other contents can affect customs, security, weight and liability arrangements.
How long will the international journey take?
We confirm a collection and delivery plan after checking the addresses, vehicle, release documents and crossing options. Weather, border checks, site access and transport availability may affect the schedule.
