Prestige & Classic Vehicle Transportation

BZ Recovery provides carefully planned classic car transport, prestige vehicle transportation and recovery for sports, performance, lowered and modified cars. Each movement is assessed around clearance, condition, loading angle and the vehicle’s individual requirements.

Our service uses suitable open recovery or transportation equipment selected for the job. We do not claim enclosed transport; if enclosed carriage is essential, state that requirement before booking.

Careful planning for vehicles that are not ordinary loads

A cherished classic, low sports car or high-value prestige vehicle may be fully driveable but still unsuitable for a routine loading approach. Long overhangs, front splitters, side skirts, low exhausts, wide wheels, air suspension, fragile towing points and non-standard bodywork all change the usable angle.

Before quoting, we ask for accurate vehicle details and current photographs. Depending on the assessment, suitable equipment may include tilt-and-slide trucks, beavertails, truck-and-trailer combinations, winches and low-loading ramps. No equipment description is a promise that every car will fit.

The goal is a controlled collection based on known information. Tell us about modifications and existing marks honestly; hidden clearance or condition issues can stop a safe loading attempt.

Vehicles suited to an individual transport assessment

Classic and historic cars

Transport for restored classics, long-term ownership cars, show vehicles and historic models travelling to specialists, storage, events or a new owner.

Prestige and luxury vehicles

Planned movement of premium saloons, SUVs, grand tourers and luxury cars where timing, collection presentation and clear handover matter.

Sports and performance cars

Low noses, wide tyres, stiff suspension, carbon components and long overhangs require clearance information and photographs.

Lowered and modified vehicles

Coilovers, air suspension, body kits, splitters, aftermarket wheels, stretched tyres or changes to towing points must be declared.

Projects and restoration vehicles

Part-complete classics, barn finds and restoration projects may have seized brakes, weak tyres, missing parts or structural concerns.

Auction and purchase delivery

Collection after a private purchase, specialist sale or auction, provided payment, release, keys, condition and receiving arrangements are ready.

Information that protects the vehicle and the booking

  • Make, model, registration or VIN, year and approximate value band where relevant to planning
  • Vehicle length, width, height, weight and measured lowest ground clearance for unusual or very low cars
  • Front and rear overhangs, splitters, diffusers, side skirts, exhausts and vulnerable underside components
  • Suspension type and safe transport setting, particularly adjustable or air suspension
  • Wheel and tyre size, locking status, steering movement and whether brakes release
  • Whether the engine runs, the gearbox selects neutral and safe manufacturer towing or loading points are known
  • Existing damage, paint defects, fluid leaks, fragile trim or loose components
  • Clear photos from all sides, low front/rear angles, wheels, loading approach and destination access

Remove loose valuables and personal belongings unless their carriage has been specifically discussed. Alarm, immobiliser, tracker and key instructions should be supplied where needed.

Open transportation, not an enclosed-transport claim

BZ Recovery’s described service uses suitable open recovery trucks or transportation combinations. Open transport is common for recovery and vehicle movements, but it does not provide the sealed weather and privacy environment of an enclosed carrier.

We would rather state that boundary clearly than create a false expectation. If the owner, insurer, event, finance company or vehicle value requires enclosed transport, tell us at the start. We can discuss the requirement, but enclosed carriage must not be assumed unless explicitly confirmed.

Weather, road conditions, vehicle preparation and collection timing can affect an open movement. Owners should decide whether open transport is appropriate for their vehicle and intended use.

Our classic and prestige vehicle transport process

1. Vehicle profile

We review dimensions, weight, ground clearance, modifications, condition, wheel movement, keys and manufacturer considerations.

2. Access photographs

Collection and delivery gradients, gateways, surfaces, height restrictions and available loading space are checked.

3. Method and quote

Suitable equipment, route, timing, distance and loading needs are used to prepare the quote.

4. Collection check

The vehicle and disclosed condition are reviewed at collection. A material difference may require the plan to change.

5. Loading and secure delivery

The vehicle is loaded and restrained using the assessed approach, then delivered to the agreed authorised recipient.

Journeys for owners, specialists and the motor trade

We quote local and longer-distance transport between homes, specialist garages, detailers, storage facilities, restorers, dealers, auction sites, event locations and buyers or sellers. The destination must be ready and suitable to receive the vehicle.

Our core area is Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire, with UK-wide and selected mainland European transport available by quotation. Planned vehicle transportation starts from £1.75 per mile; the final price reflects route, condition, loading complexity, equipment, waiting and timing.

Motor businesses can also visit Trade Vehicle Transportation. For European journeys, see European Vehicle Transportation.

Low, non-running and fragile vehicle boundaries

A low car that runs and raises on air suspension is different from a project shell with seized wheels. If safe restraint points are unavailable, the structure is weak, parts are loose, tyres cannot support loading or ground clearance is below the selected equipment’s capability, ordinary transport may not be suitable.

We will not promise damage-free movement irrespective of undisclosed faults or unsafe vehicle condition. Existing defects should be photographed, and any specialist instructions provided before attendance. Some vehicles need workshop preparation or a dedicated specialist carrier.

Prestige and classic car transport FAQs

Do you transport classic cars?

Yes, classics can be quoted for local or longer-distance movement. We need running status, brakes, steering, tyres, ground clearance, condition, dimensions and access photographs.

Can you move a lowered or modified car?

Potentially. Provide measured clearance, suspension setup, wheel and tyre details, body-kit information and low-angle photos. Suitability depends on the actual car and equipment.

Is the vehicle transported in an enclosed trailer?

No enclosed service is claimed on this page. The service uses suitable open recovery or transportation equipment unless enclosed carriage is specifically discussed and expressly confirmed.

Can you collect a prestige car from an auction or dealer?

Yes, subject to payment, release, collection slot, keys, condition and site rules. Supply buyer or stock references and a receiving contact.

Can you transport a non-running restoration project?

Often, but seized wheels, missing parts, weak tyres, corrosion and structural integrity must be assessed. Some projects require preparation before normal loading is safe.

How much is classic car transportation?

Planned transport starts from £1.75 per mile. Distance, vehicle value considerations, clearance, condition, loading work, route, equipment, timing and waiting shape the final quote.

Planning transport for a classic, prestige or lowered car?

Send the vehicle details, measured clearance, condition, modifications, collection and delivery postcodes, dates and clear photographs. We will assess a suitable open transportation method and quote.
